    Hi Kiran,

I write for DC Vegetarian and just came across your blog. I live in Washington DC but travel to Oxford quite often (every couple of months) for work. Would you mind sharing some of your favorite restaurants and things to eat in town? I have another visit coming up in October!

      Hi Meera,
Good question. DC is a great city – good Ethiopian restaurants from what I remember!

In the UK around 95% of Indian restaurants are actually Bangladeshi cuisine – not actually Indian. Moreover the flavours have been tailored for the British pallet (lots of tomatoes and chilli!).

There are not really great Indian restaurants here – that’s why we started our company – to produce real home cooked Indian food. Anyway, that said…

The best I would say is “4000 miles from Delhi” in town which is pretty good.

Hope that helps. Have a good trip over.

Thanks Kiran! I’ll try 4000 miles from Delhi and also let my Oxonian colleagues know about your products.

Hello Kiran! I’m so happy that you found my blog AND this has led me to YOUR blog…two things I’m a big fan of: 1. England and 2. Indian cuisine. Score! Right off the bat, your chai and aloo gobi recipes struck me (love those!) and they will make an appearance in our kitchen this week. Can’t wait to try more πŸ™‚

Thank you for noticing my recent blog post. I’ve been looking at your site and find it very attractive. Since we are vegan, I wondered if you can tag your vegan recipes, or shall I just go to the Vegetarian ones and adapt? Thanks.

The first time I ever ate Indian cuisine was in Edinburgh, Scotland. Freaking yummie! It’s hard to get good Indian here in Cancun but I make do with some nice curry, naan and some Bollywood movies in the background. And to tell you the truth, the spicier, the better. I will have to see about your sauce when I get back to the States!

That’s what I was told! I still remember what I had: chicken tandoori with a basket of naan. Brings back really good memories. And now that I watch Bollywood movies, it makes the whole experience so much better!

Hello from Western Australia! We live in a beautiful but small town on the south coast and our two Indian restaurants operate on the “nuggets of cheap meat in a sea of gravy” philosophy. I’m so glad to have found your blog – it’s terrific. Can’t wait to try some of the recipes.
